What the locations actually look like
They are not interchangeable. Villa Cabana is Hawaiian themed — white outside, colour and florals inside, with a lawn, a kids' play area and a pool table. Villa Laguna is Scandinavian, with the beach a short walk away and the Bay of Bengal behind it. Villa Ivory runs an ocean theme with a stone path through the lawn to separate sitting areas. Villa Aqua has the infinity pool and the sea in front of it at Muttukadu.
All eight have a private pool and a garden, free parking inside the property, wifi and 24-hour power backup — which on a shoot day is the line item that decides whether the day finishes.
How a shoot is arranged
By enquiry. A shoot is not a stay: the hours are different, the number of people through the gate is different, and so is the wear on a house that somebody lives in the rest of the month. Ring us with the dates, the crew size, the hours and what you want to shoot, and we will tell you plainly whether that villa can take it and what it costs.
This is the part to ring us about rather than read about. What a particular villa can take on a particular day depends on the day, the neighbours and the villa, and we would rather tell you plainly on the phone than publish a rule that turns out not to fit what you are planning.

That is the first question we will ask you, because the answer depends on the villa, the day and what is being shot. Parking is inside the property and finite, and the villas sit among other houses. Tell us the crew size and the hours and we will give you a straight answer.
Is there power backup for lights and equipment?
Every villa has 24-hour power backup and wifi. What that will carry in terms of lighting load is a question for the specific villa — ask when you enquire rather than assuming.
Which villas have the most distinctive interiors?
Cabana is Hawaiian themed, Laguna Scandinavian and Ivory runs an ocean theme. Aqua has the infinity pool facing the sea at Muttukadu. The villa pages carry the photographs and a film of several of them.
Can we book a shoot through the website?
No. The booking flow on this site is for stays. A shoot is quoted after a conversation, because the hours, the crew and the terms are all different.
Where are the villas?
The closest is Villa Seraya at Chennai, about 13 km from the Adyar signal — 20 to 30 minutes by road. The furthest is Villa Ivory at Kovalam, 31 km. The range is wide because the ECR is: the same drive takes twice as long on a Saturday afternoon as it does early on a weekday.
